Turn of the seasons, unfortunately there has been a lot going on in the world, so much that an infrequent blogger such as myself can barely keep up. Of course the biggest news right now is hurricane Katrina and the resulting boondoggle (love that word... boooondoggle) care of the higher levels of government. Honestly besides feeling sympathetic to the people in the states... I'm not really in tears over it. Around the world more people die from less monumental events which are easily preventable, and for some reason it does annoy me a little when people talk about how "this is the states... something like this shouldn't happen here". Not to say that anyone anywhere deserves to be put through that kind of suffering, but isn't it the height of conciet to believe oneself better and therefore immune from problems the 'third' world countries face... maybe people will realize that the distance from 'first' to 'third' really isn't that far.
